MEETING NADINE GONZALEZ
Nadine Gonzalez is an adventurer, determined and visionary. Her qualities and the originality of her methods allow her to make concrete projects that without her specific talents and her particular expertise would remain utopian. From 2000 to 2005 she worked in various fashion professions in Paris and then in Copenhagen. A birthday present then takes her to Brazil and it is in Rio that she discovers another way of looking at fashion, tired of the European way of practicing it. Sensitive to the complicity between the body and the garment, she perceives the human and ethical aspect that could lead to a positive economical model. She then works on social projects awakening the creativity of women in the shadows: prostitutes or prisoners. Her collections made with these marginalized women seduced women of power as ; Christine Lagarde (2007 / Ministry of Foreign Trade), Sarah Lerfel (2008 / art director of the concept store Colette), Carla Bruni (2009 / First Lady of France) or Mary Donaldson (2012 / Princess of Denmark). Nadine focuses not only on the power of women but also on youth by opening in 2013 the first and only fashion school in a favela, free for young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods. Nadine focuses on the power of women in the first phase of the world. By interpreting in their own way the history, the tradition, the politics and the sociological evolutions of their country of young talents are revealed with an intention resolutely original and new, this sound of bellowing been systematically despised before by the classic channels of the Brazilian fashion. By identifying these emerging creators ‘Casa Geraçao‘ breathes new wind into fashion in general, which does not leave indifferent big established brands who come to draw a new inspiration. After having identified and developed these young talents, it remains at the ‘Casa Geraçao’ the ultimate mission to integrate them into the job market by claiming their own identity, a reflection of the creative emulsion of this youth on the move and the result is significant in Brazil. Strong of 10 years of this Brazilian experience, Nadine returns today in France to apply the methods which made the success of its Brazilian adventure, not by duplicating them but by adapting them sociologically to the local situation.
In September 2017, the CASA93 opens its doors at the Mob Hotel in Saint-Ouen by hosting its first promotion of 20 young students. In July 2018, CASA93 students present their collective collection inspired by the line13.
CASA93 is a school of creative life, based on equal opportunities, located at the Mob hotel in Saint-Ouen but born in Brazil, in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. CASA93 is a new kind of training, free and unconditional diploma, for young talents passionate about fashion, mainly from priority areas. CASA93 is a professional training that reinvents the education of fashion, proposing a pedagogical innovation methodology, social, human and urban based on the collective.
