PAUL HAWKEN – HOW TO REVERSE THE PHENOMENON OF CLIMATE WARMING

A MEETING AT “BLEU DE COCAGNE”

We had the pleasure of having a visit from Paul Hawken at our store during his last trip to France for the presentation of his book. To be truthful, I did not know him… However knowing that we share this desire to act concretely and immediately for the protection of our planet, it seemed relevant to me to help publicize the great work of Paul Hawken and his partners.” Bruno Duflos – Founder of Bleu de Cocagne.

Determined not to resign himself to global warming, the humanist and ecologist Paul Hawken offers 100 solutions to reverse the trend in his latest book, Drawdown. Where experts usually deal with energies and the need to save and renew them, Hawken strives for a more humane and social approach to saving our planet.

A COLLECTIVE AND CITIZEN WORK

Drawdown is a collective project, a great adventure involving researchers from around the world. It is with 70 scientists who joined his movement that Paul Hawken signs this book.

“Drawdown is that point in time when the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere begins to decline on a year-to-year basis.”

Since the political summits such as the COP 21 do not seem sufficient, it is through a citizen approach that global warming can be countered.

IMPACTING AND INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

Drawdown offers concrete and detailed elements to implement solutions over thirty years and their ecological footprint. They are also classified by major themes (Food, Transport, Exploitation of resources …) and by force of impact.

Among these solutions to reduce our ecological footprint, the strengthening of the education of women and girls around the world, the reduction of meat products in our food or the recycling of refrigerants or the revaluation of textile materials.

In short, Paul Hawken proposes a collective plan to build a global and beneficial strategy for all.

THE COMMITMENT OF BLUE COCAGNE

“ Reversing the phenomenon of global warming is only possible if we transform our way of life, production and consumption. I discovered’ Bleu de Cocagne ‘during my trip to Paris this spring. I was very impressed by the quality of their clothing and their approach to the manufacturing process, starting with the cultivation of Pastel (Isatis Tinctoria), then the natural dyeing process, the selection of materials ….. until ‘at the store” Paul Hawken

In line with the Drawdown movement, Bleu de Cocagne seeks to reduce its ecological impact by adopting raw materials whose production is not greedy in water and energy. We therefore favor a conscious and sustainable approach to the manufacturing process of our clothing.

Indeed, a significant change comes first through local positions and initiatives before developing on a larger scale. Bleu de Cocagne’s mission is to contribute to this global strategy by highlighting the know-how of craftsmen committed to producing ecological products.
